  • Does this rate include food? The rate includes a daily breakfast basket with local ground coffee and tea, milk, butter, selection of jams, bread, kuih lapis, cheese, seasonal fruits. We do not have an onsite cook so you’ll need to prepare your own breakfast. A cook can be provided upon request with additional charges, please contact our villa manager for inquiries: villamanager@ombaklagoibay.com
  • What cooking equipment is provided? We have a large fridge, 4 burner stovetop, microwave, oven, toaster oven, water boiler/kettle and coffee plunger as well as pots, pans, (adult and kids) plates, bowls, cups/glasses, cutlery.
  • Does the price includes transfers to the Bintan Ferry Terminal? Yes we offer a complimentary Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal round-trip transfers for 1 departure and 1 arrival time for up to 2 cars each way. Additional transfer to or from ferry terminal can be arranged at US$12 per car per way (up to max of 6 adults). Our driver will greet you at the arrival area with a signboard with your group name.
  • What baby/toddler equipment/toys do you have? Family holidays are a breeze at Ombak Villa. We are equipped with 2 baby travel cots, high chair, booster dining seat and plastic crockery/plates/glasses. We also have a child’s bed rail that can be placed on 1 of the bunk beds. There are also sand/beach toys, some art/craft supplies and some board games.
  • Does the rate include maid/helper service? We have a live-in maid who will provide house-keeping services. She does not cook or provide baby-sitting services. If you need either of these services we can help to source someone during your stay. There are 2 maids beds available if you’d like to bring your helper but need to include her in the number of total guests.
  • Do we need to pay extra for the use of water toys? The use of a 2-person kayak, 2 stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), 2 kids boogie boards are included up to 3 day. An additional 3 days cost $100. The boat is strictly for owners’ use.
  • Supermarket/market nearby? Lagoi Bay Mini-Mart (10am-9pm) – good selection of drinks (soda, beer, juice) and snacks (chips, nuts, cookies), small selection of wine – recommend you bring a bottle per adult from SG or duty free at the Singapore ferry terminal, some cereals and cooking items.

  • What are the food options around?
  1. Self-catering:  The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking so if you prefer to cook then we recommend you bring items such as meats, dairy except milk, and packaged items from Singapore as the closest large supermarket is an hour away in Tanjung Pinang and many items may be hard to find nearby. We also provide a large gas BBQ.
  2. Self-catering BBQ  Menu – Adult US$20p/p, Child $10p/p (2 days advance notice) Chicken satay, chicken wings, selection of seafood (prawns, squid, fish), corn, potato and satay condiments/sauces is also available for guests to purchase
  3. There are 2 restaurants open at the nearby Lagoi Bay Mall which is just a 5 minute drive. We have a copy of their menus. We can order on your behalf and arrange delivery for a small transport fee. The Italian restaurant Fly Boys has good pastas and pizzas.
  4. We can also arrange transport to any of the hotels in Bintan or a good local seafood restaurant with our transport team. Please inquire for prices.
  5. You can also contact our Villa Manager (villamanager@ombaklagoibay.com) to arrange a chef during your stay for an additional cost.
  • Do I need Rupiah? Best to have some rupiah as restaurants and activities will be priced in rupiah.
  • ATM nearby? Pasar Oleh Oleh Market has several ATMs and has a bank if you want to exchange money. There is one at Bintan Ferry terminal but sometimes it isn’t working so bring some SG$ in case.
  • Which ferry do I take? Book a seat on the ferry at http://booking.brf.com.sg/schedule-fares/ferry-schedule/ in advance.
  • Do we need a visa for Bintan? Any other travel fees? Depending on your nationality you may need a visa on arrival. The visa fees are US15 for up to 7 days stay in Indonesia as if September 2015 although check http://booking.brf.com.sg/travel-information/visa-information/ for details.  It is easier to pay in SG$. Many countries like the US and UK have been recently given a visa exemption as of October 1, 2015. *There are no departure fees/taxes if you leave by ferry.
